TOP 3 REASONS To Add a Disney Book to Your Summer Reading List

If you didn’t know I’m a big reader. It’s harder for me to read as much as I’d when I’m working on school, but I’ve been catching up on my reading since my spring semester ended and I just finished one of the latest Star Wars books, The Light of the Jedi.

I absolutely love that Disney has been expanding their publishing with series like the Twisted Tales, which I’ve covered the Peter Pan one on here before, the Star Wars books have been published over the past few years have been great, and of course the Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson.

Here’s my top 3 reasons why I love Disney books and why they need to be added to your summer reading list!

1. They give us new stories and perspectives on characters and universes that we’ve grown up with or watched on the big screen.

Like the Star Wars books, they have given us so much more to the canon like amazing characters, deeper look at beloved characters and I love the one I’ve been reading that focus on the time before Phantom Menace. And the Twisted tails are great because they give us a different look at well known characters.

As for The Kingdom Keepers, you get Walt Disney history and adventure so you really can’t go wrong with the series and I’m going to talk about it later on in this episode.

2. They encourage fans to read.

I would bet that there aren’t as many people who love to read as there used to be. Not to mention the fact that people are so much busier now-adays. Disney has produced a lot great shows and movies, but a person can (and should) only allow themselves so much screen time. Creating more books gives Disney fans another way to enjoy the characters and worlds they’ve loved to watch on screens.

3. They encourage creativity

I believe reading enhances creativity, specifically reading fantasy fiction- which is a lot of what Disney publishes. The more Disney publishes the more opportunity to cultivate the imaginations of fans of all ages.

Okay…now back to The Kingdom Keepers by Ridley Pearson. This series is by far one of my favorites because of the way it takes you behind the scenes in the Disney parks, while adding a dash of excitement and adventure. I read this series when I came home from my DCP and every time I picked it up I couldn’t put it down because it made me feel like I was back home.

I love this series so much that I’m making it the center piece of my first online course! I’m working on my Creative Writing course to share with you all and I hope that when it’s finally finished that you will be join our classroom!

Now, maybe you’re thinking, well I’m not really a writer so it doesn’t sound like something for me. BUT learning how to write creatively can also help you if you’re a content creator of any type. Especially if you’re a Youtube creator! So, make sure you’re subscribed to our channel and following us on Instagram, so you know when the course goes live!

We'll also be giving more updates here as well so make sure you sign up for our email list!
