If you've ever been to Walt Disney World during the Easter season you know that many of the resorts create a display of beautifully designed Easter eggs. I've seen them once during my time in the Disney College Program and I was amazed at the intricate details and art work.
This year, since I'm missing Disney like crazy, I thought it would be fun to recreate one of these eggs! I'm not the best at crafts, I can create the idea of what I want to see but I'm not always the best at executing the actual design.
I came up with the idea of doing a Disney Easter egg when I found a Paper Mache egg at Hobby Lobby. I thought, how hard can it be? Worst comes to worst I'll just glue pictures on it. Well, I kept putting off the craft, then decided since it is Easter weekend I should probably try it.
The thing I didn't realize is that there is tough plastic underneath the paper of the egg. I almost hurt myself but thankfully didn't. When I do this craft in the future I'll be using a different kind of egg for sure.
After cutting up the egg to place my little diorama I played with a couple designs but stuck with my favorite princess, Cinderella. It also helped that I had just gotten one of those surprise toys at Target and the little Cinderella figure was the perfect size for the egg.
I painted the egg orange to represent the pumpkin, put a fairy godmother sticker on the outside, and placed blue crepe paper in the bottom of the egg to make it look like Cinderella's dress spread out. For the background I just printed off a Cinderella Background google photo I found.
All in all it was a fun craft to do, and I could see this being great for kids and even a fun school project for teachers to have their kids do for Easter. I do advise having a better egg than the one I used, so that you're not trying to cut through plastic.

I'm excited to try this again next year though! What about you? Do you like to do these kind of crafts? Let us know over on our Instagram post featuring the video on how I made the egg.
