In case you haven't heard this year marks Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday! Hopefully, you were able to catch his 90th Spectacular on ABC, it was such a fun show that celebrated 90 years of Mickey. This mouse has impacted our culture beyond anything else, and it's crazy to think Walt's idea of Mickey was originally rejected. Yet, he kept dreaming and doing and here we are 90 years later putting on a year long celebration for a true original.
Though the celebration kicked off a while ago, Mickey's actual birthday is November 18th, this Sunday! So, we are celebrating all weekend long! Starting with today and our Mickey Disney Bounds. For this one I decided to call in reinforcements and got Mom and Annie to join in the fun.
Steam Boat Willie
Here's mom rocking the first Mickey- Steam Boat Willie. The iconic black and white was easy to pull out of her closet. She followed the Disney Bounding tip of using pieces she already had in her closet. To make it look even more like the cartoon she used a grey undershirt instead of a stark white; this gave it the vintage look and more of the original feel of Mickey's character.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice
I had a couple options of how to portray this version of Mickey. I chose to mesh style an warmth by using a comfy red sweater and blue leggings, and my little brown booties from Walmart were perfect to match Mickey's shoes. I left the belt off because I'm not a big fan of belts.

Either versions are fun, versatile and easy to replicate.
Disney Bound Tip: Mom and I both used block colors. It's harder to bound when you have patterned pieces. Look for solid shirts, dresses, etc.
