The Land of Pandora Comes Alive at Night

A bucket list of mine since Pandora opened up in Animal Kingdom was to see the new land at night. I'd seen pictures and heard stories of how beautiful it was, but Animal Kingdom has never been a stay late park for us so we'd never made the time. Therefore, it was my goal on my last trip to take the time and finally see it for myself, and I'm so glad I did.

Every time the sun goes down and the moon shines over the vast regions of Disney World, each park seems to come alive with a mysterious magic. The lights down Main Street twinkle like fairies, Hollywood Studios is all glitz and glamor, Epcot is bright with the lights of different nations, and Animal Kingdom is all aglow under floating mountains and the below peak of Mount Everest. There's just something about Disney at night that makes me teary with nostalgia, and pumped with adventure. Pandora is no exception, if anything it entices me to stay late again in Animal Kingdom to sit under the moon with mountains floating above my head.

Now, if you're not sure what to do while you wait for the sun to go down here are my suggestions:

1. If you've got a park hopper ticket then hang out at another park until it begins to get dark then grab a bus to Animal Kingdom. That's the beauty of Disney transportation, they can take you from park to park easier than you having to find a parking spot and take a tram.

2. Don't want to stay at Animal Kingdom all and don't have a park hopper? Go enjoy your resort or explore Disney Springs; then come back when it gets dark.

Me, I grabbed my camera and tripod and took a lot of pictures for you to get just a taste of what this mysterious land is like at night. I hope it encourages you to stay around next time you're there and experience it for yourself.
