Ever since I heard about the Bon Voyage Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno Restaurant, I've been dying to go and eat with Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Ariel, and Prince Eric. I'd watch video reviews of it, drool over pictures of the delicious food, and dream of the day I could go and eat there. Finally, I snagged a reservation for me and my friend for our January trip. I scheduled it for 10:35 so that we could rope drop Hollywood Studios then enjoy our brunch.
That morning was absolutely beautiful and only semi cold for Florida in January. My mom got me the Tangled dress from the Disney Princess Collection by Her Universe for Christmas so I could wear it for the breakfast. I was extremely impressed how comfortable it was for walking around the parks, and would've kept it on all day but the it stayed very cold in the evenings on our trip.

Location
Trattoria al Forno Restaurant is located at Disney's Boardwalk Resort, which made it an easy boat ride from Hollywood Studios. We got off the boat at Swan and Dolphin so we could walk around the Boardwalk because it's so beautiful and such a fun atmosphere. The Boardwalk is one of my favorite resorts to stroll around and enjoy the atmosphere. We had enough time and perfect lighting for a quick photoshoot before breakfast.
Once you check in your party you wait either in the lobby or go outside and wait on the Boardwalk, but I'd advise waiting inside because you'll catch quick glimpses of your hosts- Rapunzel, Flynn, Eric, and Ariel. They enter into the main room through the lobby and we found this out the fun way when Flynn was announced and greeted us as he walked by (I may have squealed a little).
Delicious Pastries

Once seated your server asks for your drink orders and brings an assortment of pastries for the table to share. This is what I was excited for the most, next to the characters. I tried all of them except for the regular cupcake. The pastries come out in a skillet, who knew skillets weren't just great weapons but great serving dishes as well! The Tangled braid pastry was a twisted bread with chocolate in the middle, and I was worried it would be dry but it was absolute perfection (the more I talk about it the more I'm craving one). Another pastry was shaped like a sea shell with a tiny pearl on top and a delicious jelly in the middle. I devoured this one quickly and wished we'd had more.
As we waited for our main course we met the characters and our table was in a perfect position by the lobby allowing us to see the characters as they were introduced and began their walk through the restaurant. Eugene and Rapunzel even stopped by our table before they started their rounds, to admire my friend's flower crown she purchased from Disney Springs the night before.

The Characters
It was a surreal experience meeting these characters. You can meet Rapunzel at Fairytale Hall in The Magic Kingdom, but Ariel only walks on land for dining experiences, and you rarely meet the princes' except for special events. The only downside was our experience with Ariel and Eric became quite rushed, but they were still very sweet and polite.

Main Meal
There were many options for the main dish and I was torn between the Tower of Pancakes and the Tangled Eggs, and opted for the eggs since I'd had my fill of pastries. However, I definitely chose the wrong egg dish, it was very greasy and rather heavy. When I go back (because I'd do this experience every trip) I plan on trying either Flynn's Feast (eggs your way with potatoes and sausage) or Pascal's Palate (fruit and greek yogurt).

Overall the Bon Voyage Breakfast is great for all ages! We had our reservation around lunch time but I'd rather have an earlier one so as not to have to go back and forth from the parks and the restaurant.
